Show us your booties.

November 11, 2010

Is it just me or does every woman pretty much just die when she sees a pair of baby shoes.

If these don’t make you almost cry, you better check your pulse. If not for the fact that I’m practicing more self-control than every before on the financial front, I’d probably just buy these and save them for my future brood (I’m hoping in the next five years?!).

So if you have any new additions in your life this year and can’t find the time or the skill to make a sweet little pair of booties on your own, let Deb over at handmadebabylove do the work for you.

My faves:

9-12 Months Baby Bootie Boots, Green $17.99

3-6 months Baby Loafer Booties, Yellow $12.99

If your braeburn is chilly.

What in the world is this? I have no idea, but you better believe I love what I’m seeing. I stumbled across these gems here yesterday when looking for some coozies for my brother. A seller by the name of panAsh on etsy designs them and what a delight to the senses; the touch, the look, they have it all. How often have I thrown my apple into my purse as a snack and reached in to grab it only to discover that it was covered in residue from the bowels of my bag. The answer is never, because I don’t eat apples that often, but you can bet your life I’m going to be consuming more of them if only to show off this fashionable culinary jacket.  What style, what pizazz, just for goodness sakes don’t send one to school with your son.

Apple Cozy #25  $8.00

Apple Cozy #29 $8.00

Apple Cozy #26 $8.00

And speaking of coozies…

Crazy Crochet Coozie #55 $5.00

Crazy Crochet Coozie #60 $5.00

And for the record…”Crazy Crochet Coozie?” That almost sounds naughty.

Ahem.

Let’s talk about the pobrecita’s cowl. Something you may have seen in fur in the 1965 film classic Dr. Zhivago, has now become accessible to us all thanks to an exciting seller on etsy by the name of Yokoo. You can check out her online store here. I just came back from a week and a half stint in NYC and this would have been my saving grace during those snowy days. I also love hiding under hoods, there’s always something very liberating about only showcasing the face. Work those cheek bones, ladies. Now, I realize that this item isn’t what you and I may consider cheap, but I can imagine you could keep this in your wintry wardrobe for years to come. She also has other numerous items for those blustery days. Mom’s with daughters/nieces/daughter’s in law on the east coast, take a gander.

Babushka’s beware.

The Pembroke Cowl in Taupe : $115

The Nantucket Cowl in Wood Brown: $65
